In this webinar, Tracy Newhart, Literacy Coordinator for Fort Smith Public Schools in Fort Smith, Arkansas will share her experiences in implementing sensory-cognitive instruction in Kindergarten through second grade classrooms and how the district emphasized reading instruction aligned with Arkansas’ RISE standards.

Over four years, the district successfully scaled implementation and established multiple structures to foster sustainability. This session will present the implementation design, including examples of how teachers make process-based education a reality for their students. Ms. Newhart will also discuss district leadership’s unique work to develop support mechanisms for teachers and adapt process-based sensory instruction to their district.
